Annual Activities

Funds from the events and activities below are used to sponsor local organizations and programs that benefit children in Elizabethton and Carter County. We invite you to take advantage of sponsorship opportunities and to attend our events which take place throughout the year.


Pancake Day is our largest annual fundraiser. It has been held annually in November for more than 50 years. Tickets are can be purchased from members or at the door. Dine-in and take-out are available. Placemat advertising space is available, and Carter County ornaments will be on sale at the event.

Chili Dinner was first held in December 2016 on the evening of the downtown Christmas Parade. It was a huge success thanks to Chili Master Tim Broyles. It is held annually in December. Tickets are can be purchased from members or at the door. Dine-in and take-out are available. Placemat advertising space is available, and Carter County ornaments will be on sale at the event.
Date: Dec. 7, 2020 from 4-7 p.m.


Kiwanis One Day is an international service day held on the 4th Saturday of October. It is a day for clubs to unify and tackle community projects together.


Flag Day takes place on various major holidays throughout the year. This is an opportunity for local businesses to sponsor flags for $40 in the first year and $20 for subsequent years to support the ongoing programs of Kiwanis. Flags are distributed in three areas of town and taken down in the evening. These dates include President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriot’s Day, Columbus Day and Veteran’s Day. Christmas Ornament Sales take place each year in November and December to support Kiwanis programs. They depict local landmarks and make great gifts! Available from members, or at Fraser Fir Tree Lighting, Pancake Day and Chili Dinner.
