On Tuesday, Sep. 18, Kiwanis Club held its regular meeting at Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Elizabethton. TCAT Elizabethton is one of 27 TCATs in TN. It offers 13 individual programs as well as additional online and evening programs. Appx. 450 students are in class daily participating in 16-month programs to earn industry certifications and job training for specific industries aligned to the needs of this region. The school boasts a 92% completion rate and 091% placement rate. 85% of TCAT students are eligible for TNPromise or TNReconnect, which allow them to attend school tuition-free. TCAT proudly partners with major industries to offer specific certifications and opportunities for its graduates. TCAT Elizabethton has one of the newest facilities in the state and is already outgrowing the building.
John Lee, the schools’ NC3 coordinator shared an exciting industry partnership announcement with the club that will be made public at the end of October. TCAT Elizabethton is one of five National Coalition for Career Certification Train the Trainer centers in the country.
