Builders Club installed at T.A. Dugger Jr. High School

ELIZABETHTON — Earlier this month, the Elizabethton Kiwanis Club held an installation ceremony for a new Builders Club at T.A. Dugger Junior High School.

The members of the Kiwanis Club and the charter members of the new Builders Club met in the dining room at T.A. Dugger for the ceremony and to present the charter and banner to the club’s first officers.

The charter members are:

Sixth grade: Reygan Birchfield, Brayden Buckles, Caleb Campbell, Cooper Chinault, Amberlin Grindstaff, Hannah Hayes, Hayden Hensley, Baylor Hopland, Cooper Jack, Justin Porch, Zoe Proffitt, Jozey Reece, Savannah Smith and Ava George Wilber.

Seventh grade: Cadie Digby, Kyleigh Elliott, Corey Green, Nathan Greene, Tyanna Hitechew. Sophia James, Hannah Kyte, Makayla Payne, Nicholas Perry, Makenna Smith, Moriah Thomas and Bailee VanHuss.

Eighth grade: Izzy McQueen.

The first board of directors for the new club are: president: Izzy McQueen, vice president: Tyanna Hitechew; secretary: Makayla Payne; treasurer: Sophia James; sixthgrade director: Brayden Buckles; seventh-grade director: Cadie Digby; eighth-grade director: Izzy McQueen.

With the installation of the Builders Club at T.A. Dugger, the Elizabethton Kiwanis Club now has a club in each of the schools in the city. Harold McCormick has a K-Kids Club that has been active since 2001; West Side K-Kids has been active since 2004; The Key Club at Elizabethton High School has been active since 2006; and East Side K-Kids has been active since 2010. The Builders Club at T.A. Dugger completes the Kiwanis Club presence in the schools. The club also has a Key Club at Unaka High School in the Carter County School System.
